According to White House insiders, the presidential impeachment process has really depressed Donald Trump.
“He’s real worked up about this mess,” explained a top aide, who would only speak to The Halfway Post under the condition of anonymity to candidly discuss the President’s mood. “He feels like he’s let down all his supporters, and he’s even more distraught about betraying the trust Vladimir Putin demonstrated by intervening in our election with millions of dollars in social media advertising and prolific fake news websites publishing conspiracy theories about Hillary Clinton. He thinks of Putin as kind of like a father, which is a little odd because Trump is older than Putin, but the President has always really looked up to the Russian president. He really hoped to show Putin what a great president he could be, but now this impeachment is an eternal stain on his legacy if not the beginning of the end of his presidency. Trump never even got to lift sanctions on Russia’s economy, and now it may be too late. Trump is also really upset about some kind of tape that Putin has and might release if Trump gets impeached, not real sure what that’s all about…”
