The Bible Passage Where An Old Man Makes Bears Maul Children Voted Best

St. Louis, MO—

A brand new online poll about the Bible has been exhaustively conducted over the last several months to find the most popular passage from the Bible of all time, and the winning excerpt has officially been named.

The most favorite passage is, officially, 2 Kings 2:24-25, in which the old man Elisha was mocked for being bald by a group of boys numbering higher than 42, and then he calls for God to curse them, which is followed quickly by two bears appearing and killing 42 of them. Classic Old Testament God.

The voting was conducted by over 2 million participants, and this passage won with just over 6% of the vote. It was quite a dominant victory, considering how many hundreds of Biblical passages were entered into the contest.

The following is the crowned passage, 2 Kings 2:24-25, courtesy of the New International Version’s translation of the Bible:

“From there Elisha went up to Bethel. As he was walking along the road, some boys came out of the town and jeered at him. “Get out of here, baldy!’ they said. ‘Get out of here, baldy!'”

“He turned around, looked at them and called down a curse on them in the name of the LORD. Then two bears came out of the woods and mauled forty-two of the boys.”

“And he went on to Mount Carmel and from there returned to Samaria.”

What a beautiful display of Christian values and morals we should all take to heart. The Bible is the literal word of God, so this passage is the most important thing you’ll read today. Absorb its lessons, and carry it with you as you fulfill God’s destiny for you.
